Why Tech-Talk was launched in 2018

In 2018, the Noida–Delhi NCR engineering community had plenty of generic developer meetups, but very few sessions focused specifically on production-grade open-source enterprise software. Most CRM, ERP and BI conversations were still being dominated by proprietary vendor roadshows. Redian started Tech-Talk to fill that gap — a community-run, vendor-neutral forum where engineers could speak honestly about what worked and what didn't when running open source in regulated, customer-facing environments.

Early sessions covered topics like extending SuiteCRM with custom modules, designing reporting layers on top of Odoo, and integrating Zoho with legacy ERP back-ends. Speakers were drawn from the Redian engineering bench as well as guest practitioners from partner firms and customer engineering teams.

What Tech-Talk became

The format has evolved over the years from a single in-office gathering into a hybrid programme that runs across Noida, Nairobi and Dubai. The recurring themes — open standards, vendor lock-in avoidance, and pragmatic customization — have only become more relevant as enterprises in India, East Africa and the Gulf have moved larger workloads onto open-source stacks.
