Solution overview

In depth — how this platform runs.

The long-form view of capability, architecture and deployment model.

A modern policy administration system (PAS) is the difference between shipping a new product line in a quarter and waiting three. Redian Software builds greenfield PAS deployments and replaces or extends existing platforms for carriers, MGAs and brokers across the UK, USA, UAE, India and Africa. CMMI Level 3 Appraised, ISO 27001 and 9001 certified, with nine years of production insurance delivery across 200+ enterprises from Noida, Nairobi, Dubai, London and New York.

What we deliver

  • Product factory — motor, health, property, marine, engineering, commercial and bespoke lines, configured by product managers without a release cycle.
  • Quote-bind-issue — rating, referral, underwriter workbench, document generation in multiple languages, and premium accounting.
  • Endorsement, renewal and cancellation — configurable workflows with maker-checker and audit trail.
  • Premium accounting and commissions — multi-broker, multi-tier commission structures, statement of account.
  • Reinsurance interface — cession calculations, treaty and facultative, bordereau generation.
  • Claims interface — clean handover to the claims management platform, with reserve and settlement controls.
  • Regulator reporting — IRDAI, FCA, NAIC, IRA Kenya, NAICOM, IA UAE and IIB reporting.
  • Broker and customer portals — quote tools, policy servicing, e-sign and document vault.

Who we build this for

  • Mid-market carriers and composite insurers replacing legacy PAS
  • MGAs and MGUs with bespoke pricing, capacity allocation and bordereau needs
  • Brokers and aggregators standing up a PAS-lite for direct binder authority
  • Digital-first insurers and microinsurers launching with mobile money, USSD or partner-bank integration
  • Cross-border insurance groups operating across multiple regulators
  • Insurance groups consolidating a portfolio of legacy PAS systems

Our approach

Discovery — product catalogue review, regulator scan, current-PAS audit (technical debt, integrations, data), and a written proposal with fixed scope. Design — object model, product templates, workflows and rating architecture. Configuration and build — product-factory configuration and custom build for fit gaps. Working software in UAT every two weeks. Data migration — extract, cleanse, reconcile; three-cycle trial migration to UAT before live cutover. UAT and reconciliation — business UAT with underwriters, ops and finance; portfolio reconciliation against the outgoing system. Go-live and parallel run — staged cutover with new plus legacy in parallel where risk demands, hypercare. Optimisation — quarterly business reviews. Timeline committed at end of Discovery, in writing.

Why Redian

What makes this platform different.

Independent reasons clients pick us over incumbents and over generic global platforms.

  • Product launches in days

Configuration, not code. Your product team launches new motor, health, travel or micro-insurance products in days, not quarters of vendor consulting.

  • Reinsurance-aware by design

Automatic cessions integrated at policy bind. No separate reinsurance reconciliation cycle. No drift between PAS and reinsurance ledger.

  • Multi-regulator from one platform

IRDAI, FCA, CBK, CBUAE deployments under a single platform. New regulator support is scoped against the specific jurisdiction and committed in writing before we start.

  • Carriers, MGAs, brokers, aggregators across the UK, India, Africa and Middle East. AIO member; deep insurtech delivery experience.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you wanted to ask before the demo.

Don't see your question? Ask us directly →

How long does a PAS implementation take?

The shape depends on product lines in scope, integrations, data volumes and regulator involvement — we commit a written timeline at the end of Discovery, against your actual scope. We ship working software in UAT every two weeks regardless of total length — you see progress continuously. Phased rollouts almost always beat big-bang.

Can our product team really launch new products without code?

Yes — that's the entire design point. Product configuration uses a rules engine, rate tables and form templates that your product team manages. We train your team during implementation. Most clients launch their second product without us involved.

Which lines of business do you support?

Motor, health, life, travel, property, marine, liability, commercial lines and micro-insurance. We've deployed PAS for general insurance, life insurance and composite carriers.

How does the PAS integrate with our reinsurance treaties?

Tightly. Our [Reinsurance Placement System](/solutions/insurance/reinsurance-placement-system) integrates with the PAS for automatic cessions at policy bind. Treaty capacity, reinsurer settlement and statutory reporting flow through without manual reconciliation.

Will you migrate our in-force policies from the legacy system?

Yes. We've migrated from BancsBranch, Genelco, Synergetics, Eurobase and several in-house systems. Standard process: 3-cycle trial migration to UAT, full reconciliation, rollback procedures contracted.

Do you support multi-jurisdiction operations?

Yes — one platform, multiple regulator profiles. We've deployed for insurance groups operating across IRDAI (India), FCA (UK), CBK (Kenya) and CBUAE (UAE) simultaneously. Each policy carries its own currency, language and regulator context.
