Redian Software launched "Open Source Lab" for open source software professionals

To strengthen the open source software community, Redian Software has launched the "open source lab" at it's headquarter in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative will be helping open source software professionals to meet there and discuss about the open source platforms.

"Open source lab" team will be organizing the weekly meetups for open source professionals and will discuss the open source software and tools available. Professionals will collaborate to find the solution for the issues in these tools and later on it will be published to the software repositories.

Why a Physical Open Source Lab Made Sense in 2019

When the lab opened in January 2019, the Noida and wider NCR tech scene was thick with corporate developer communities but had relatively few persistent venues where open source maintainers, contributors and curious newcomers could meet in person on a regular cadence. The Redian Open Source Lab was designed to fix that. Weekly meetups followed a simple pattern: a short talk by a practitioner working on a real production system, an open hacking session where attendees could pair on issues from upstream repositories, and a feedback loop that pushed working patches back to the projects involved. SuiteCRM, Odoo, Mautic, Laravel and various PHP and Node libraries were frequent topics, reflecting the stack our consulting teams use day to day.

How It Connected to the Wider Business

The lab was not a marketing exercise.
